Admit it.  We all like seeing people get stuck.  Here are some of those moments.

These shots were taken from a Deadwood Safari trip in November 2001.  We caught up with the Club 4x4 group and saw them in action.

Excerpts from the trip report give an idea of how it feels inside a trapped vehicle ...

"Once you're into it from the top there's no turning back, but it's OK, just a bit steepish.  Gee that water rut in the middle's deep now - got to straddle that ..."

"It was all over in a second and the Pajero was solidly locked in that rut, tilted over to the left at more than 45 degrees, jammed solidly by the doors against the rut.  We had to dig a small trench for the front wheels to follow and dig along the lefthand side before it came free with a bit of a push.  Dent (aka memories) in the front guard and both doors, but relatively minor ..."

"... more dramatic in a short wheelbase vehicle as the back end desperately wanted to beat the front down the hill by going over the front and got up to a metre off the ground before the rut trapped them ... the right front wheel barely touching the ground and both rear wheels up in the air."

Ron (leader for our family trip) showed us how to tackle the deep rutted climb.

Remember what goes up must come down!

From the foot of the slope, Neil's wife was supping coffee and couldn't bear to look

Tilted at over 45 degrees, some digging was required (plus a bit of push) to free the truck

From the viewing gallery, all eyes were watching ... would he make it or not?

John also got sucked into the rut

Hmm - should we just leave him?
