Queenstown

See those mountains in the banner?  That's Paradise and the Dart River Valley - the magical wilderness of Lord of The Rings, only 45 kms from Queenstown.

Situated in the South Island of New Zealand, Queenstown is the "Adventure Capital of the World" where adrenalin junkies queue to jump off a  bridge with their feet tied to a latex cord, skydive, jetboat, parapente ... etc.

Since we aren't exactly the dare-devil type, we're going to show you how you can still enjoy the beautiful views of the Otago and Southland regions from the comfort of your car, in an off-road vehicle, or simply using your feet (with a bit of sweat of course).

We've visited the Southern Lakes several times but have never seen the place in autumn.  The views are just stunning with the leaves turning red, orange and yellow!  If you're planning to travel independently the iTAG magazine could be a good source of information.
